Wednesday 7th July

Cabin in the DFDS ferry..
We left Dunbar at midday to head down the A1 to Newcastle, and our DFDS ferry terminal. By 2pm we were there, and found ourselves near to the front of the queue of cars. By 2.45pm we were on the boat and had found our cabin on the 11th deck- the highest we had been on this particular ship.

At 5pm we headed for the Seven Seas Restaurant and quite literally stuffed our faces at the buffet, which I had booked months before. Anna and I gorged ourselves on a wonderful variety of starters (mostly fish based) before we headed back a couple of times for various main courses, including lamb, potato gratin, whitefish, salmon, spicy meatballs, salads and new potatoes, before finishing off with a variety of watermelon, melon, and pineapple. Sandy and Olivia meanwhile loved the children's variety of spaghetti bolognaise, burgers, chicken, chips and various salad items. They finished off by making their own ice creams.

After playing some games and reading, we realxed and fell asleep in our cabin, in readiness for tomorrow's drive through Holland and Germany, destination Lubeck!
