Monday 12 July

I cleaned and lit the sauna almost immediately after breakfast this morning, as we had no plans today other than to swim and take saunas, especially if the weather was to be good. Well, we had no worries there, as there was hardly a cloud in the sky all day! This morning before lunch we all took several saunas and swims, as the lake was so warm- the water seems warmer every day.
In the barbeque hut, with Lake Häkojarvi behind.

Burgers and sausages from the barbeque for lunch!

At lunch time, I lit the gas barbeque and cooked some sausages, while Anna prepared various salads, and we all ate in the barbeque hut, which is really like an extra room. It was slightly cooler in there, which was nice. Then we continued with swimming and saunas, till mid afternoon. I rounded everyone up then, and we headed off for a look at Juva centre. On the way there, it was amazing to see that the temperature was 33C! In Juva, I found a sports shop and bought a new pair of goggles for swimming, before we did some shopping in the supermarket there. On the return journey, with ice creams, the temperature went as high as 33.5C, and this at 6pm! It's a strange heat, as it's fresher than anything we have experienced in Scotland, so you don't sweat as much, and in fact, it seems really pleasant.
Back home, my new goggles allowed me to enjoy the lake even more- there are millions of fish in it!

Temperature at 5.45pm on the way to Juva!
