Finland 2010- the boats!

The King of Scandinavia, the first boat, from Newcastle to Amsterdam. Built in 1987, carries 1500 people, owned by DFDS ferry company.

Showing the route from Travemunde in Germany, up the Baltic Sea to Helsinki, Finland.

The ferry from Travemunde to Helsinki, operated by Finnlines, which was built in 2007 and carries 500 people.

Ferry number 3, the Silja Serenade, the largest roll-on, roll-off ferry in the world, capacity 3000 people, 14 decks, umpteen shops and pools, saunas and cinemas- a majestic ship, which we simply loved travelling on in 2006. Can't wait for this again. Built 1989, operated by Tallink Silja. This ferry will take us from Helsinki to Stockholm, on the first leg of our return journey.

Another view of Silja's Serenade ferry.

The final ferry, taking us back from Amsterdam to Newcastle, the Princess of Norway, operated by DFDS. Capacity 1300 people, built 1986.
